Medical Director

Brandon Colby, MD, is a world leader in the field of predictive medicine. In addition to serving as the medical director of Existence Health, Dr. Colby is also the CEO of Existence Genetics, a company that provides the health care industry with access to state-of-the-art predictive medicine services.

Dr. Colby has been involved in the genetics field for his entire life, first as a patient, then as a researcher, and now as a practicing physician. He has conducted extensive research in the field of advanced clinical genetic analysis, inventing numerous patent-pending technologies that make comprehensive genetic screening understandable, useful, and empowering to both physician and patient. Dr. Colby is also the only practicing physician in the world to have designed a first-of-its-kind DNA Chip. This DNA Chip allows him not only to assess a person's risk for hundreds of diseases and traits at a single time at relatively low cost but also to concurrently provide genetically tailored preventive recommendations to fight against those diseases to which the person is found to be predisposed.

Dr. Colby is also the author of the book Outsmart Your Genes, which discusses the groundbreaking advances made in the field of predictive medicine. The book is written in nonscientific, nontechnical terms in order to make the information it contains easily accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they have any background in genetics or medicine. Outsmart Your Genes has become the definitive layperson’s guide to predictive medicine and genetic testing.

He holds a degree in Genetics from the University of Michigan Honors Program, an MD from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. He is licensed to practice medicine in California and New York.

Dr. Colby is an Affiliate Specialist of the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG), an Associate of the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM), and a member of the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC).

Enrico Cerrato, MD, is an associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine. After years of diagnosing and treating patients in the end stages of their illness, Dr. Cerrato sought a new way to fight against disease. Recognizing that the risks of many diseases can be predicted through the use of genetic testing, and that this foreknowledge can then be used to lower the patient’s risk long before any disease even occurs, he naturally chose the field of predictive medicine.

Besides serving as an Existence Health physician, Dr. Cerrato works as an attending physician at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where he specializes in both Internal Medicine and hospital-based medicine. He routinely diagnoses and treats complex and life-threatening illnesses and allocates a significant portion of his time to researching the latest advancements in Internal Medicine. Because of his diverse skills and experience, Dr. Cerrato is frequently asked by specialist physicians in other fields to provide Internal Medicine consultancy services to their patients.

Dr. Cerrato earned his medical degree at New York Medical College and later completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Wonuk Lee, MD, is board certified in both Rheumatology and Internal Medicine and is also certified to practice Medical Acupuncture. In caring for patients with many different issues, Dr. Lee integrates modern medicine with complementary and alternative medical techniques, thereby effectively combining western and eastern medical techniques. By further integrating the wide-ranging information acquired through genetic testing and the principles of predictive medicine, he brings a unique skillset to Existence Health, ensuring that our practice remains on the cutting edge of personalized prevention.

Dr. Lee completed his Rheumatology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He earned his MD from Texas A&M University Medical School and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Dr. Lee continued on to train in Medical Acupuncture through the UCLA School of Medicine. He has previously worked with a Southern California County’s Public Health Department and in a large medical group practice in Los Angeles. Besides serving as a physician for Existence Health, Dr. Lee also runs his own successful private practice in Santa Barbara. He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
